Well-wisher Manual · Chapter 2 of 11 For parents & guardians

Getting linked to your student

The invitation, creating your account, and pressing Start following.

You become a Well-wisher in one of two ways:

  • Your student invites you — the most common way, described in this chapter.
  • You invite your student — useful when your child is not on EduPeak yet. See chapter 3.

Either way, nothing is shared until the student agrees. When your child invites you, the invitation itself is their agreement. When you invite your child, they are asked to agree before anything is shared.

What your student does

On their own dashboard, your student has a yellow strip called Share your journey 💛. It reads: Your hard work deserves cheering. Let your parent, guardian or tuition teacher walk with you… They press Add someone.

Figure 1. On the student’s dashboard: the Share your journey strip and its Add someone button (1).

In the window that opens, your student:

  1. Chooses who you are: Parent (mum / dad), Guardian (family / carer) or Teacher (tuition / school).
  2. Types your email address. The link will only work for this email, so give your child the address you actually use.
  3. Presses Create invite link.

What you receive

The invitation can reach you in two ways. You only need one of them.

By email from EduPeak

EduPeak emails the invitation to the address your child typed. The subject reads like Aarav wants to share their PCM progress with you. The letter opens with “Namaste!”, explains that your student has chosen to share their progress with you, and has a button such as Follow Aarav’s progress. It also says the invitation is for you alone and expires in 60 days.

By WhatsApp (or SMS) from your child

Your child can also press Share on WhatsApp or Copy and send you a ready-made message from their own phone. It says, in words like these: Hi 👋 Aarav has invited you to follow their Class 11 and 12 PCM progress on EduPeak. As their parent you will see their dashboard and reports, view only. Nothing to set up. Below that come a Join here link, a line 🔒 This link is only for: followed by your email, and 🗓 Expires on a date.

Accepting the invitation

Open the link from the email or the WhatsApp message. It opens a page on jeemain.edupeak.org headed Aarav Mehta invited you — Follow Aarav Mehta’s progress. It repeats what you will be able to do: You’ll see Aarav Mehta’s dashboards and reports, read-only. You can’t start or change anything — that stays with the student. Under that it shows part of the email the invite is locked to, and the date it expires.

If you are new to EduPeak

Figure 3. The invitation page before you sign in: Create account (1) for new people, Sign in (2) if you already have an account.
  1. Press Create account → (1). If you already have an EduPeak account, press Sign in (2) instead and skip to “Pressing Start following” below.
  2. The Create your account page opens on edupeak.org. A green box says Your invitation says who you are — You’re joining to follow a student’s progress. You do not need to choose a role.
  3. Fill in your First name, Last name, and a User ID (small letters, numbers and dots, like sunita.mehta — choose carefully, it cannot be changed yet).
  4. Type your Email (4). Use the same email the invitation was sent to.
  5. Choose a Password — 8 or more characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number — and type it again in Confirm password.
  6. Press Create account (6). Because you came through an invitation, you are signed straight in and taken back to your invitation.
Figure 4. Creating your account on edupeak.org. Use the email the invitation was sent to (4), then press Create account (6).

Pressing Start following

Once you are signed in, the invitation page shows one orange button. Press Start following → (1). The note below it explains: One tap — the role is added to your account; everything you already have stays untouched.

Figure 5. Signed in as Sunita: one tap on Start following (1) completes the link.

EduPeak takes you straight to Your students, where your child now appears. You are a Well-wisher.

Figure 6. Straight after accepting: Aarav appears on Sunita’s Your students page.

If something goes wrong

What you seeWhat it means and what to do
This invite isn’t for this account. It was sent to … — sign out and sign back in with that email. You are signed in with a different email from the one your child typed. Sign out (your name at the top right → Sign out) and sign in with the right email — or ask your child to invite the email you are using. EduPeak never attaches an invite to the wrong account silently.
This invitation has already been used. 🎉You (or someone at that email) already accepted it. If it was you, press Continue to my EduPeak → or Sign in to continue. Tip: bookmark jeemain.edupeak.org — that is your door from now on.
This invitation is expired. Ask for a fresh one. (or cancelled)The link is past its 60 days, or your child cancelled it. Ask them to create a new one.
Invitation not foundThe link was cut short when it was copied. Open it again from the original message, or ask for a fresh invite.
