What is Basecamp? The 100-minute test that shows where you really stand

Where you find it
Sign in to myEduPeak and open My Assessments. The page is a trail map with three stops — Basecamp, Chapter Tests, Mock Tests — in the order a two-year preparation actually happens. Basecamp is the first stop, and one yellow button starts it.
The test itself is straightforward. Six sections in 100 minutes: Quantitative, Physics, Chemistry, Logical reasoning, Spatial visualization, and a Speed drill. The questions check the Class 9–10 foundations that JEE preparation is built on — not the JEE syllabus itself. That is the point: Basecamp measures the ground you are standing on, before the climb.
What you get back: the CAMP profile
The moment you submit, the report is ready. Here is the real screen — this is what Ananya, a Class 11 student, sees after her first Basecamp:
Look at what the report does. It does not stop at "61%". It splits that one number into four dimensions:
- C · Cognition — how well you reason. Ananya: 74%, a clear strength.
- A · Aptitude — how well you see and rotate shapes in your head. 71%, strong again.
- M · Mastery — how much of Class 9–10 Maths, Physics and Chemistry actually stuck. 51%, the honest middle.
- P · Pace — speed with accuracy, under a clock. 64%, developing.
One glance at the profile shape tells Ananya's story: the thinking JEE rewards is already in her — the subject foundations need work, and Chemistry needs it first. Her strengths are named (logical reasoning, spatial visualization). Her one priority gap is named (Chemistry, 43%). Nothing is vague.
Why this matters
Two students can both score 61%. One is strong in reasoning but weak in Chemistry basics. The other knows the facts but reasons slowly. The same number — two completely different study plans. A percentage cannot tell them apart. A CAMP profile can.
What happens after Basecamp
The report is not a verdict — it is a starting plan. Ananya's next step is written right into her results: her Chapter Tests should start with Chemistry, while quick practice keeps her strong reasoning sharp. Every colour on that screen points somewhere: green means keep it warm, orange means build it, red means start here.
